Animal Adaptation Research Report
Here are a series of videos that I made during science today with the students of Mrs. Follett and Mrs. Tinholt. This was designed to be a FAQ for students with questions on their research report.

Lesson 9.3 and a Revision
Here is Drew's effort for 9.3. As you can see, we are starting to add some more visuals to what is on the Impress slides. I think that this will help add to our presentation style. We'll see how it goes for what Drew creates for lesson 9.5.
Also, here is the revised version of lesson 9.2 with a correction to a math error.

Harcourt Math Lesson 9.2 4th Grade
In this video, Drew does a really nice job of showing how to use the order of operations to solve multi-operation expressions. In the video, he does a great job of trimming the screen to focus only on the Impress slides. He also changed his pen color to blue so that it would show up better on the screen. We still have some work to do on clarifying explanations, but I feel that we are making great progress in a short amount of time.

Drew's First Attempt
Here is Drew's first draft attempt at making and narrating a video from scratch. There are a few hiccups and errors, but we're going to give it another shot at afternoon recess to see if he can nail it. Looking good so far!

The first major test
Here is a draft of our first major test. Drew P. in my class created an Impress presentation (PowerPoint, for those of you not using OpenOffice from Java) and I narrated the video. Drew did a few takes on it, but had a hard time with the navigation of the light pen. With practice, I think he'll get it. We have some revisions to do, and I think that we need to boost the volume on the microphone, but overall I am impressed. The ease with which the videos are created is astounding, as well as the speed with which YouTube uploads the video. Check it out below!

Mobi Video
This is my first attempt and test at using the Mobi video capture feature. It looks pretty cool, and is super easy to use. I can't wait to get the kids creating and hosting their own presentations to share.
Unpacking the Mobi
Today was the first time that the students had a chance to use the Mobi here in the classroom. They were using the pen to label different parts of bar graphs. As you can see from the pictures, they are struggling with the lightpen. I'm sure that they will improve with time.
